Basically I used the click and collect method to get my beer. I arrived at the time I was ask to do so by email and gave the order details to the chap who was waiting for customers. He fetched the beer and placed it in the car for me. Off I went.

Once home I placed the beer where it would be cool and opened the box to get the tap out. Dead easy – think giant wine box. As it was a hot day I left it there to settle and cool.

Ashbourne Ale is a beer I’m very familiar with and fond of. It tasted exactly like it does in the pub! The only noticeable difference is the head which is to be expected due to the method of dispense. My preference is to have beer served like that anyway as I believe a lot of beers are ruined by the “Swan Neck” method. Others may differ!

    In summary:
Click and collect 5 stars, beer 5 stars. Thoroughly recommended.

Terrific example of a traditional bitter, robust, not over malty with a lovely bitter finish.
